Recommended for LSD oil for track use on gearboxes with LSD in it. When the LSD is in its own housing as in rear-wheel drive BMW, for example, we recommend OS250R.
OS Giken has released OS 7.2_GEAR oil as the FF version of OS-250R (80W-250) oil for FR, which is optimized for OS Giken's mechanical plate clutch (Superlock or TCD). The new range of OS 7.2GEAR oils has a kinematic viscosity index of 7.2 at 100 ℃, which is thinner than normal. Therefore, it is a low-viscosity gear oil that is unique from the competition and allows both the LSD and synchrorings in the gearbox to work well.
The advantage is that the low viscosity oil is effective for the synchro mechanism from the first use, making it easier to engage the transmission. Mixed with PAO-based ester, it creates a film on gears with high heat resistance and protection performance, and also improves its properties at high temperatures.
The ideal properties of the oil for track use do imply that it is not recommended to use it for more than 1 season. It can also be used on the street but should be changed before 10,000km because the best will be gone.
Successfully tested on the track with a Cayman S Cup car. After testing many different types of oil on this car in cooperation with reputable oil producers to get a good balance of friction for the synchro rings, good lubrication for the lock up and a smooth running gear shifting mechanism this OS Giken oil proved to create an exceptionally good balance in that For a sublime working lock up, smooth shifting, but still good working synchro rings.
