Concerns 1 2-piece floating brake disc of very high quality. Girodisc is a company that focuses on perfecting brake discs for standard braking applications where standard calipers are used.
The central part of our rotor is made of strictly American 6061 - T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from our own cast iron, in-depth in the USA and machined from start to finish in-house at Girodisc. The rotor uses 48 curved aiming vanes, developed during racing to act like a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat have a floating mounting system, which uses 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, powerful by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and plated with cadmium for long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load of braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured with class 12.9 screws with hardened washers. To prevent the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise washers on the rotor side which allows the rotor to grow with heat expansion, but eliminates the rattle and noise of floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to center itself between the brake pads.
Concerns 1 brake disc, good for 1 part of 1 axle. For a complete axle, order 2x. This set of 1 brake disc contains the rotor, an aluminum flange adapter and the correct mounting material from the adapter to the rotor.
If these discs need to be replaced, only the rotor needs to be replaced, this part costs considerably less than this set.
