Standard 350Z differential ratio is 3.53. This 3.91 is 10% shorter which increases acceleration, but decreases top speed (Sometimes the actual top speed gets a bit higher because the car can climb up to it faster).
As shown in the pictures, it has the 350z has a very long overdrive, which means that there is a very high theoretical top speed of over 300 km/h, this speed will certainly never be achieved with the standard power. When adjusting the differential gears, the gears are placed in a considerably more accessible range, so that all gears including 6th can be used for acceleration and it doesn't hang a bit for cruising.
Certainly on atmospheric cars this is very important because you make more use of the rev range of the engine where a lot of power is available.
If the car is used on a track we would recommend even recommend taking a bigger step. You would then prefer that the top speed can be reached on the long straight in order to get the most out of your power.
On the street it is especially more fun because you have more to are switching. Also for a drift, more torque is sent to the wheels and more gears become available with which power oversteer is possible.
