BMW 210 M differential overhaul with trade-in. Applicable to all E31 (including 850CSI and Alpina B12) and E32 (740i, 750i, Alpina B12)
1) Complete overhaul (bearings, oil seals, sandblasting, painting) except the LSD
Recommended if there is no play on the flanges, but there is a singing sound when driving straight ahead. Differential, apart from the LSD, as new again. (as in the pictures)
2) Option 1 plus rebuild of the OEM ZF LSD (25%)
Recommended when the lsd/operation needs to be completely refreshed. LSD and differential again as new.
3) Option 1 + 2 combined and upgrade LSD function (50%)
Recommended if the differential needs to be completely in order again, it must also remain good in the long term, with particular attention to better performance and better suitability for sporty street, circuit and drift use - recommended since tires have developed significantly since the origin of these cars. Complete diff again as new.
4) Option 1 + install new OS Giken LSD (trade-in a ZF LSD)
Recommended if the differential must be completely in order again, it must also remain good in the long term and where the best performance is central. And a standard limited slip differential is handed in. Complete diff again as new.
5) Option 1 + install new OS Giken LSD (without trading a ZF lsd)
Recommended if the differential must be completely in order again, it must also remain good in the long term and where the best performance is central. And you hand in an open differential. Complete diff again as new.
The above options include returning the worn differential. With options 2, 3, 4 and 5, this can be done on the basis of a differential of our own, so that it can first be fixed and later exchanged for yours.
Adjusting the final ratio or installing another aftermarket LSD is also possible.
