Made for the M50/52/54 M40/42/43/44 in combination with a Sachs M20 clutch kit. It fits 5 buckets of the m40, m42, m43, M44, M50, M52, M54. It will not fit the M54 6-speed. The 228mm flywheel consists of very strong Chromoly and weighs only 3.2kg (standard M50 dual mass is 11.2kg).
Due to its low weight, it will greatly improve the response of the engine. improve and acceleration also increases. Less power is needed to bring the flywheel up to speed and this power then immediately reaches the wheels. (less drive-train-loss)
It is recommended to check that the slave cylinder is about 60-70% compressed after installation. In some cases, a slightly longer axle is required on the slave cylinder, which can be made from a piece of 8mm steel or an M8 bolt.
Note: the clutch kit is M20 in size and intended for use with small 10-spline gearboxes such as an E36 325i (late E46/Z4 have 22-spline and E46 M3 have larger 10-spline),
Kit consists of :
- sprung clutch plate
- pressure group
- longer than original m20 thrust bearing (because the single mass flywheel is flatter than the dual mass flywheel)
< p>- flywheel bolts
This set fits e.g. standard E36 325i. There are also combinations available that are based on a 240mm flywheel and M30 clutch kit.
